Welcome to Articular! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Articular mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Articular ("we," "our," or "us").
By using Articular, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our Service. We recommend reading through these Terms carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that:
- You are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction)
- You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement
- You agree to comply with these Terms and our Privacy Policy
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Description of Service
Articular is a speech training application that helps users improve their speaking skills through:
- AI-powered analysis of voice recordings
- Daily training exercises and drills
- Progress tracking and feedback
- Vocabulary and fluency improvement tools
The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use only.
3. Account Registration
3.1 Account Creation
To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
3.2 Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the app's settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
4.1 Free and Premium Tiers
Articular offers both free and premium subscription options. The free tier provides limited access to features, while premium subscriptions unlock additional functionality.
4.2 Billing
Premium subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. By subscribing, you agree to:
- Pay the subscription fee at the then-current rate
- Automatic renewal unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Apple's or Google's payment terms and conditions
4.3 Price Changes
We may change subscription prices with notice. Price changes will apply to the next billing cycle after notice is given.
4.4 Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies. We do not process refunds directly. To request a refund:

- Android: Visit play.google.com/store/account
4.5 Free Trials
If you sign up for a free trial, you will not be charged until the trial period ends. To avoid charges, cancel before the trial expires.
5. User Content and Conduct
5.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of voice recordings you create. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to:
- Process your recordings for speech analysis
- Store transcripts to provide feedback and track progress
- Use anonymized, aggregated data to improve our Service
5.2 Prohibited Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Record content that is harmful, threatening, abusive, or hateful
- Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or compromise the Service
- Share your account credentials with others
- Use the Service to train competing AI models
- Circumvent any access restrictions or usage limits
- Resell or redistribute the Service
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination without refund.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Our Property
The Service, including its design, features, content, and underlying technology, is owned by Articular and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works without our permission.
6.2 Feedback
If you provide suggestions or feedback about the Service, we may use it without any obligation to you.
7. Disclaimers
7.1 "As Is" Service
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not guarantee that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- AI analysis will be 100% accurate
- You will achieve specific results from using the Service
7.2 Not Professional Advice
Articular provides speech training tools but is not a substitute for professional speech therapy, medical advice, or mental health treatment. If you have speech disorders or related conditions, please consult a qualified professional.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We are not liable for any loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Articular and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Conduct that we determine is harmful to other users or the Service
- Extended periods of inactivity
- Legal or regulatory requirements
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will remain in effect.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
