Articular ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Summary: We collect voice recordings to analyze your speech and provide feedback. Your recordings are processed by AI and then deleted. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address, name, and password when you create an account
- Voice Recordings: Audio recordings you create during training exercises
- Profile Data: Your training preferences, goals, and reminder settings
- Payment Information: Processed securely through Apple App Store or Google Play Store (we do not store payment details)
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Drill completions, scores, streaks, and progress metrics
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version
- Analytics Data: App usage patterns to improve our Service (anonymized)
1.3 Information from Third Parties
If you sign in using Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from those services.
2. How We Use Your Information

3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to provide our Service:
- OpenAI (Whisper API): Transcribes your voice recordings into text. Audio is processed and not retained by OpenAI for training purposes.
- OpenAI (GPT-4): Analyzes transcripts to provide speech feedback. Text is processed and not retained for training.
- Supabase: Securely stores your account data, progress, and transcripts.
- Firebase: Provides authentication services and crash reporting.
- RevenueCat: Manages subscription status (does not receive personal data beyond anonymized user IDs).
Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing their data practices.
4. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
- Secure authentication using industry-standard protocols
- Regular security assessments and updates
- Limited employee access to personal data
However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Rights and Choices
5.1 Access and Export
You can view your data within the app. To request a complete export, contact us at privacy@articular.app.
5.2 Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data including recordings, transcripts, and progress.
5.3 Correction
You can update your profile information within the app at any time.
5.4 Opt-Out
You can disable push notifications in your device settings. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails via the link in each email.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
7. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our servers and third-party service providers are located. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using our Service, you consent to such transfers.
8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- Right to know what personal information we collect
- Right to delete your personal information
- Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

Our legal basis for processing is your consent (for recordings) and contract performance (for providing the Service).
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
